Corps: Toronto Optimists

Réal, or “Froggy” as he was affectionately known, arrived from Montreal in 1969. He couldn’t speak a work of English, had no money, and no place to live, but none of that mattered very much because Froggy was realizing his dream by marching in the Optimists.

He played Euphonium and was fiercely proud of the Corps. He also had a “joie de vivre” that was a joy to behold.

No one could ever be around Réal and not have a good time. He always became misty-eyed whenever he put on the Corps uniform and sang the Corps song.

"Froggy" . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . We Remember!
