Members of the Alumni Corps who were associated with the Toronto Optimists include: Al Miller, Barry Bell, Bill Kane, Bob Carell, Bob Keenan, Brian Byrne, Brian Hogan, Clare Reid, Dave Johns, Dennis Roberts, Don Daber, Frans Rood, George Wright, Glenn Copp,  Gord O'Halloran, Henry Beben, Jack Roberts, Joe Gianna, John Shearer, Len Perrin, Lorne Ferrazzutti, Mark Blandford, Mel Dey, Paul Thompson, Peter McCusker, Phil Hennings, Rick Brown, Rick Robida, Rick Shearer, Rick Tracey, Ron Chong, Ron Cottrell, Ted Wilson, Terry Sweeney, Tom May and Warren Berger.

The Toronto Optimists Drum & Bugle Corps entered competition in 1958 and a legend began. They won the Canadian Championships that year. In fact, they won the Canadian Championships every year for the next 10 years! They were Canadian Champions for 11 consecutive years, a record that is unparalleled in drum corps history!

During their 20 years in operation the corps traveled throughout Canada and the US, winning over 100 national and International Championships.

The Toronto Optimists were the most consistently successful Drum Corps to ever represent Canada.

1975 was the last year of competition for the Toronto Optimists. In 1976 a merger between the Toronto Optimists and the Seneca Princemen created the Seneca Optimists.
