It's time to start making plans for next summer!
Consider joining The Optimists Alumni
Why should you consider joining? In a nutshell because we’re having
fun and we want to share our good experiences with our friends. We
travel a little, hang out with old friends, make new ones and get
to entertain others which leaves both them and us happy. Yes, we do
rehearse; however, at two rehearsals a month our schedule is lighter
than other Alumni Corps. Perhaps you're concerned about learning to
play all over again. I'd be lying if I said that it would not
require some effort; however, this is a hobby and we do it for fun.
We are not a competive corps. The skill level of our members varies and none of us
are stars. What we value most is a willingness to commit and to try to improve.
Of course, if you don't want to play, we always
have room for support staff and colour guard members.
Our 2014 show is progressing. We’re adding “The Jets”, another song
from West Side Story. In fact, we’ve already learned the number and
now have to refine it. On January 12, our first rehearsal in the new
year, we will be starting our new Opener. Check us out. Better yet, Come and Join us!
Everyone is welcome at our rehearsals. Even if you’re not interested
in joining, drop in for a look and a listen. We love to have an audience.
Who knows, you might just decide that you'd enjoy doing this.

not great technique. If you have video footage that you would like to donate
