It's time to start making plans for next summer!
Consider joining The Optimists Alumni
Why should you consider joining? In a nutshell because we’re having
fun and we want to share our good experiences with our friends. We
travel a little, hang out with old friends, make new ones and get
to entertain others which leaves both them and us happy. Yes, we do
rehearse; however, at two rehearsals a month our schedule is lighter
than other Alumni Corps. Perhaps you're concerned about learning to
play all over again. I'd be lying if I said that it would not
require some effort; however, we are not a competitive corps and,
since this is a hobby, we do it for fun. The skill level of our members varies and,
while none of us
are stars, we work together to create a great show. We look for
people who share our enthusiasm and are willing to make a commitment
to the corps while striving to improve. Of course, if you don't want
to play but are interested in what we do there is always
room for support staff and colour guard members.
2015 marks our first foray into DCI SoundSport. We will have a new repertoire, a new theme and we will be dropping our Green
uniforms to experiment with Mardi Gras style outfits. The image on the left shows Matt in one of the
uniforms (each one is unique). We hope you
will enjoy our new show. Check us out. Better yet, Come and Join us!
Everyone is welcome at our rehearsals. Even if you’re not interested
in joining, feel free to drop in for a look and a listen. We love to have an audience.
Who knows, you might just decide that you'd enjoy doing this.
