Special Note:

We have been extremely fortunate to have enough candidates willing to help out to fill all elected positions. At the same time we have key vacancies with appointed positions that we have not had the same success filling. They include, Equipment Manager, Secretary to the Board, and Social Committee Chair to mention a few. Two of those positions actually work best when volunteers also provide valuable assistance. Bottom line we truly hope as many members as possible find a way to be involved to contribute to our ongoing success.

It is with a heavy heart we inform you of the loss of a true friend and former member, Marylin Sturino. Marylin passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.

Jan Burgess passed away on May 5th, 2022. During 2007 and 2008, Jan was a photographer and support person for the Optimists Alumni. She was a real gem who will be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Kingsview Free Methodist Church, 15 Kingsview Boulevard, Etobicoke, Ontario on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 from 1 PM to 3:30 PM. A Facebook Live stream is available to attend remotely here.

A second Celebration of Life will be held at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 233, 7 John Street, Orangeville, Ontario on Sunday, June 26th, 2022 from 1 PM to 3:30 PM.

A Celebration of Life for Randy Cochrane will be held on Sunday June 26th at the Royal Canadian Legion in Orillia (215 Mississaga St E) from 2-4:30pm (drop-in).

From Randy's daughter, Jamie: "The drum corps community was so important to my dad, we hope many of you will be able to join us.".

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Randy Cochrane. Randy passed away early Monday morning after complications following surgery. A celebration of life will be announced in the coming weeks.
